Week 17. The vermix
Besides the lanugo, your baby’s body is covered with a greasy substance called vermix, whose purpose is to protect its skin. This grease gradually disappears as the weeks elapse. Normally, at childbirth this grease has almost completely disappeared. Its face is taking a more human aspect, even though its eyes are still large and separated.
The baby is about 16 cm and weighs approximately 113 grams.
