Week 15. The lanugo. Its muscles

The baby’s skin is coated by a thin and soft hair called lanugo, which almost completely disappears before birth. At this stage some babies suck their thumb. The child continues to grow. It measures about 11.5 centimetres, and weighs about 50 grams. Its neck is getting longer and the head is not so bent toward his chest now.

Its movements are beginning to be broad because of the amniotic fluid surrounding the fetus. Thus, from this week on, it will begin to exercise its muscles.
